Well, it’s safe to say I may have taken a partial day off… By that I mean, I had work tonight, but I didn’t spend any of my free time painting! That counts as a partial day off right? Haha
I did work on a second piece while at work, but it’s a basic/simple piece. It’s a 16x20in stretch canvas, where I did a fluid paint backdrop, dirty pour technique, and then drew on two men about to kiss. I found this image a long time ago, first as a digital drawing and then as an actual canvas piece and decided to make my own. I went with white and two different blue metallics in the pour, and the cells came out beautifully, just like the metallic shines are shimmering! I then drew the two men on top in sharpie, then painted them in solid white. From there I intend to use a paint marker to touch up the lines and add the additional details, such as a furry chin or scruffy face etc. So far, it looks decent to me, but I’m bias.
Otherwise, work was the same ole same, just like every other night. So, I guess that’s a blessing in a sense no? None the less, the night went by quickly thankfully and I can not complain about that. Positive thoughts create positive outcomes, right?!
I did get a message from one of my loyal customers though! She got her order the other day and she is in love with her purchase! She said that my pictures didn’t do justice for the detail work or the resin on top. She even then sent me an additional $25 on my PayPal account to cover the shipping, even though that was already included in her original payment. I did kind of screw up her order, but she didn’t need to do that.
She had commissioned me to produce an Astrology Fluid Painting, and I screwed up the Zodiac sign after the pour… Thankfully it worked out and she still wanted my mistake, but I felt like a failure and a poor business man. So, when crap like that happens, what do you do? I offered another canvas free of charge. This time, I went and created another fluid painting, but this time I created a monogram using her initials and these two giant lions. Ten hours later, it was all done and thus finalized with the resin coat. She loved it and that’s all that matters, right!?!
Good news is good news! Positive thoughts create positive outcomes!
