Good news folks! The Sailor Moon Collage I was working on, is officially completed! :) (Smile) It's such a pride filled moment when I get to say a paintings all done, but man did this bad boy take a lot out of me! :o (Eek) Seriously, I've spent collectively, I think at least a full seven days worth of work, and it looks stunning! OMG! I can't contain my excitement! I am very, and I mean VERY, proud of it! I'm still debating on if I'm going to put a resin coat on top or if I'm just gonna do a clear acrylic sealant. #decisions

Otherwise, I've started a couple other paintings and they've all gotten finished too! Headbang! I really was struggling working on 'The Rebirth of Hotaru,' to which extent it's taken me a lot longer then usual to finish her. I literally just finished working on the pure heart on her compact yesterday and all that was filling in some empty spaces and doing the highlights of the crystal shards. EVIL Laughter! It took awhile, but she's all finished, and looking beautiful! I don't think I've even uploaded a finish picture of her onto my Facebook page either, but maybe eventually it'll happen! :happybounce:  Either way, I've gotten more finished, and I was already behind when I first came back! Oops!

I am however working on this little 11x14in flat canvas, which is of Zeus! Huggle! He's such a stud muffin, why wouldn't I do a painting of him!? There's a crap ton of detail, and personally I haven't really worked on canvases of that size often, so this is going to be a bit of an experiment! Giggle I've been using some of the paint markers I've collected over the years, and I would really like ot use them to finish it. They help create just a bold line or bold coloring, so I just want to use them! Sadly, I'll have to use at least a brush or two! La la la la

On a side note, I wrote a poem! Wink/Razz It's kind of sad, which is all I ever write, but one of my friends said it was good, but their bias! LoveSo, I'll post it on here, MAYBE, and maybe ya'll can tell me what your thoughts are on it! I like it, except it's a little long!

But WAY more IMPORTANTLY...... Waaaah! I think I need to start setting myself some deadlines. Oops! No joke, I think it might help keep me motivated and help prevent me from starting another, before I've even finished the first one I was working on. :happybounce: I think I just get a little impatient and sometimes my ideas are just overflowing, which leads to having multiple projects at the same time, and some never reaching completion. Rage And let's be honest, seeing a work in progress, just collecting dust instead of working on it or being completed, makes me sick....

None the less, one step at a time, one breathe at a time. Meow :3 It shall all work out and play out accordingly!

Well, it's been an interesting couple days! ;) (Wink)

First off, I'm almost done with the Sailor Moon Collage, and it is looking FABULOUS! Love Seriously, my shade work and highlights are totally on point! I went and started doing the outline of it too, but I'm still wondering if I shouldn't have done the line work... :o (Eek) It's anime style though, so outlines are kind of a requirement to some degree. You can be the judge when you check it out after I submit it in the next few days! #fingerscrossed

However, I did start working on two additional pieces, but both have been stalled since I locked my keys in my car this evening and they're both sitting in the backseat... Waaaah!

I mentioned the two guys almost kissing painting in one of my earlier journal entries, and it's still at it's incomplete state... :( (Sad) I honestly haven't had any motivation to work on it, plus it being stuck in my car, doesn't help the situation either... Oops... I salute you! But I'm hoping since, in t minus 3.5hr I'll be off work on officially on my day off, I might finish it. Horny! We'll see how the day goes.

I'm suppose to meet up with my half sister today, whom I've only ever got to meet once, so depending on when I head home, will determine if I work on that bad boy today or not.Dance!

Otherwise, I started another painting... Hi! I know... I should be finishing one before starting another, but this one doesn't require as much detail as the last two... Innocent At least, I don't think so! I'm doing the rebirth of Hotaru from Sailor Moon. If you're a die hard fan like me, you know what I'm talking about, but if not, I'll elaborate. In the third season of Sailor Moon, the one regarding the Heart Snatchers and Mistress 9; there's a character known as Hotaru Tomoe, later known as my favorite sailor scout, Sailor Saturn. Well, Sailor Moon gives over the Purity Chalice to save Hotaru, but it is in vain. Yet, Hotaru is able to break free from Mistress 9's hold, and regains control of her body, reviving and releasing Sailor Saturn. Now, to Sailor Uranus and Neptune, she is known as the Sailor Scout of Destruction since she has enough/strong enough powers to destroy a whole planet! Headbang! Talk about some vicious fire power! None the less, after Saturn is awoken, she comes to Sailor Moon and thanks her for protecting her, and that she would go and destroy Pharaoh 90. Alas, she can not follow her because she no longer has the Purity Chalice and can no longer transform into Super Sailor Moon. This breaks her heart and still tries to go and help Saturn. The other scouts see this, and somehow pool their powers together and give them to Sailor Moon, which turns her into Super Sailor Moon. She is then able to follow Saturn, and at the end, she returns standing in a blank stare holding a baby. That baby, is Hotaru, given a second chance at a new life.  omfg  Talk about a bad ass sequence of events!!!

But, that depicted scene, is what I'm currently working on. It's on a large scale canvas, not sure about the measurements, but I did a back drop using a brick colored red, a bright red, an ivory and some metallic red and a sponge. OMG!It actually came out quite nice, and it looks really good so far. Woohooooo!  Anyhow, that's all I have to say really. I could talk about work, but who wants to hear about wiping butts?!

Well, it’s safe to say I may have taken a partial day off… By that I mean, I had work tonight, but I didn’t spend any of my free time painting! That counts as a partial day off right? Haha

I did work on a second piece while at work, but it’s a basic/simple piece. It’s a 16x20in stretch canvas, where I did a fluid paint backdrop, dirty pour technique, and then drew on two men about to kiss. I found this image a long time ago, first as a digital drawing and then as an actual canvas piece and decided to make my own. I went with white and two different blue metallics in the pour, and the cells came out beautifully, just like the metallic shines are shimmering! I then drew the two men on top in sharpie, then painted them in solid white. From there I intend to use a paint marker to touch up the lines and add the additional details, such as a furry chin or scruffy face etc. So far, it looks decent to me, but I’m bias.

Otherwise, work was the same ole same, just like every other night. So, I guess that’s a blessing in a sense no? None the less, the night went by quickly thankfully and I can not complain about that. Positive thoughts create positive outcomes, right?!

I did get a message from one of my loyal customers though! She got her order the other day and she is in love with her purchase! She said that my pictures didn’t do justice for the detail work or the resin on top. She even then sent me an additional $25 on my PayPal account to cover the shipping, even though that was already included in her original payment. I did kind of screw up her order, but she didn’t need to do that.

She had commissioned me to produce an Astrology Fluid Painting, and I screwed up the Zodiac sign after the pour… Thankfully it worked out and she still wanted my mistake, but I felt like a failure and a poor business man. So, when crap like that happens, what do you do? I offered another canvas free of charge. This time, I went and created another fluid painting, but this time I created a monogram using her initials and these two giant lions. Ten hours later, it was all done and thus finalized with the resin coat. She loved it and that’s all that matters, right!?!

Good news is good news! Positive thoughts create positive outcomes!

In the past few days, I officially started working on this awesome idea I got for a Sailor Moon Collage.

Pinterest had a Sailor Moon pin for me, but it was someone’s digital drawing of a collage of the mystical items from, my all time favorite anime ever, Sailor Moon. I really liked the idea, but wasn’t a fan of the entire layout or the fact I just wanted to give it my own spin! 😂 So, I collected images and created my own collage of it. I got to start painting it tonight, and it is coming along beautifully. 😎 Or at least that’s how I feel and what my buddy Moore said!!! 😂😂

I’m working with a 16x20in stretches canvas that I use pink parfait and a blue teal-ish acrylic to make a base using a sponge. Back in elementary school, we had this like hobby day, where our teachers showed up things they did in their spare time. Like the school Nurse; she showed us how to paint using sponges for a texture style for walls or whatever you use it for. I remember the class or ‘activity’ and it was cool. I used that information, or at least what I remember of it, and made my base.  I was quite satisfied with it, and from there I drew out the collage.

I included items such as Sailor Jupiter and Venus’ Transformation Wands, the Purity Chalice, the Moon Scepter, the Crescent Moon Wand, plus many other of Sailor Moon’s weapons or compacts including Sailor Mini or Chibi Moon’s compacts and wands. I had to include Sailor Uranus and Neptune’s Treasures. I didn’t think about adding Pluto’s until my buddy mentioned it too. I won’t lie, I already had so much time spent in the collage, I said screw it! 😭😭 I just couldn’t go through all the tome to change the drawing and I didn’t have the energy! 😆 But none the less, I think it looks good!! 😍😍

I’ve got the majority of the Purity Chalice, Moon Scepter and part of the Crescent Moon Wand and Prism Locket partially painted. 👍🏻 👏🏻 It slightly looks horrendous because I need to touch up my like work, but my details are shunning bright! 🌟 Like a diamond! 💎 But seriously, looks FABBBBBUUUULOUS! 😂

It's officially the second day since I've finally logged back in here and became an active member again, and the sad part, I don't even know how or what to do on here anymore! I hate to admit it, but I am currently self conscious about any of my work, and I'm scared that it's not good enough or even worth sharing.

I know, art is all about interpretation and what people think or feel about it, but sadly, I am my own worse critique. Always have been and probably always will be, but I try to make it perfect. Now that's something I should definitely get over, because some of the best art, isn't quite perfect! XD

Now, with that being said, I have a question that'd I really like some feedback on: Am I a real artist or?

I ask this, for one main reason, I can't draw from my head. Usually when I am working on an art piece, unless it's something abstract, I typically need some reference material or an image to go off of. By that, I mean, the painting I submitted today of Harley Quinn originally came from a google image search. With that being said, it's not like I printed the image and traced it, but I printed it, grid it, drew it out on paper and thus transferred it onto the canvas. Followed by the paint and making it look fabulous, but does that make me an artist or just a wanna be? By all means, there is literally almost no way for something to create something that's truly one of a kind. With that being said, what I mean is, with all the artists in this world, alive or dead, everything, if not everything, has already been done before. We all just do our own little flares to it.

To me, it makes me an artist because I can draw it, I can make it look the way it's suppose to, and I always try and add personal touches, such as alterations or by changing the colors of the subject. It's something that's always bothered me, because I can draw, I can paint, I can do almost anything, but sometimes I feel like I'm not a real artist because I can not draw from my head, for the life of me. So, I'm open to some of your opinions. I'm sure it's just gonna be a bunch of negative comments or such, but whatever. I rather be honest and upfront then live a lie.

Now that's out of the way, because let me tell ya, that's been bugging me for the last year if not longer! haha

On a side note, I've been pondering the idea of posting my poetry and short stories on here too. I know I've had them on here before, but I wanted to take a vote. I'll be posting a poll on here whether or not to upload them, so if you're actually reading this, be sure to go place your vote. Feedback is always welcomed.
